Mexican Food Identity Crisis

Mexican food, as a whole, has an identity crisis. Enchiladas are just wet tacos. Taquitos should technically be tiny tacos? But they’re just dry enchiladas? Don’t even get me started on tostadas. Those are just flat tacos.
All of these ingredients and it’s really just more of the same. A different perspective if you will. Insert undeserved winking emoji. Anyway, Mexican food seems to have multiple personality disorder. It’s taking the same ingredients and making them as diverse as possible, like a spicy resume. Is it a doppelganger? No! It’s just a fancy taco!
Is it a problem? No. Is it controversial? Maybe. Am I wrong? Yes and no.
What do you think? Are there other foods out there that are just another food in disguise? Is it possible that it’s all the same food? Let me know, we will solve this crisis together.
